Update: book review on romance stories Hi everyone, so this weekend is Valentine’s weekend. What I like about this day is that Saint Valentine (well one of them anyway) stood up for marriage when a roman emperor had banned marriages. This made me think of married couples in books and romantic stories in general. I tried to think of books that portrayed a successful long term marriage and all I could think of was Arthur and Molly Weasley in the Harry Potter series. Of course we don’t know what happens to them after book 7 but considering that their oldest two children, Bill and Charlie, must be in their twenties, they’ve been together for quite some time. Their relationship has lasted through Voldemort’s first reign of terror and throughout the days of his return. They stuck together while struggling with money and being ridiculed for mixing with muggle born wizards. There has been trouble with several of their children and through it all, they kept it going. Update Hi all how have you been? Did you enjoy Snow and Ice ? I had some troubles trying to figure out how to get the drama across when it’s mostly about one actor in a deserted location. Anyway the seasons seem to be on my mind lately. I have a new idea for a story connected with spring. So keep an eye out for that one in February. Today I’d like to share some thoughts about a fantasy trilogy I read last year. You may have heard of it already, as it’s been around for a long while and is very popular. If you haven’t read it yet I certainly recommend it as a way of broadening your fantasy horizons. I am talking about The Saga of the Borderlands by Liliana Bodoc . Her style has that dreamlike quality, the characters are real people with complex personalities and the plot is solid. Update Hi all, how’ve you been? I’m personally just glad December is over. The end of the year tends to weigh me down like a suffocating blanket. The New Year by contrast seems to bring a breath of fresh air. Like a blank page it’s open to any adventure you want to start. So my adventure for 2016 is to be more consistent with my writing and blogging than I have been in 2015. Since last year wasn’t a very productive year for me personally that shouldn’t be too much of a challenge. I’m not saying 2015 was entirely unproductive. I did quite a lot of stuff for others which benefits me also but progress on my own stories has been slow and my blog archive for 2015 is dismal when compared to the archive of 2014. I guess you could say I need to remind myself to stay committed to writing my own stuff even if it isn’t making me any money. Hello everyone, Since it's been awhile since I posted anything I thought you might like a little update. I've been working on two things mostly. One is a story about Maiven and Kendrick. You might remember them as they were side characters mentioned in the story 'Imagine: being lost'. Well as side characters sometimes do, these two stuck in my mind and started begging for their own story. It's a complicated one so I've been working on it for some time now. It involves visiting other worlds which is what makes it so complicating. World building can be a lot of work especially when you're dealing with multiple worlds governed by different rules and possibilities.  I don't think I'll be putting it on the blog as it's gone beyond 10.000 words with just the first leg of the story told. My kind, patient readers, I'm sorry I've kept you waiting. I seem to be stuck in the mud trying to wrestle my way out to get my new story finished. Right now I'm working on a story about the discomforts of modern technology (I know, I should leave the tech themes, they always get me stuck). Though I couldn't finish a proper story today, I would like to leave you with 3 nonsense rhymes I came up with while trying to unclog my mind. this is a little note to let you know that I will be publishing more regularly but in two different languages. So the 1st Friday of the month I will be posting the Dutch translations of my stories. The 3rd Friday of the month there will be new stories in English. I tried putting the two on separate pages but that doesn't work and I'm too lazy to make a 3rd blog as I have trouble  keeping up with this one and have been neglecting my second  blog for months now. I know what you're thinking: "If you're going to write more stories anyway why not post them on a new blog?". That is a good question.
